In the midst of the darkest times, we can always find light and inner hope.
And we can learn this hope by walking through the seasons.
My Dear Sunrise Walker Friends,
In the depth of these winter mornings and into the New Year, the light at sunrise and throughout the day can be a doorway into deep listening. Many mark the Winter Solstice through Sunrise Walks, bonfires, or advent traditions, gathering with friends and family. People around the world are called to participate at this time of the year.
This time of year can also be a time when we have to face individual times of loss and darkness. Through many traditions, we are taught in our hearts that it is safe to journey through this darkness. This time of year can also be full of hope, cheer, and new directions for the New Year. I encourage you all to reflect through journaling and walking/gathering with friends and family. Reflecting is an active process that is initially our own private journey and then shared with friends and family. JOIN US IN MUSIC OF NOTAN
I am thrilled to share that Jean Farmer and Robin O’Brien will be joining us to fill our hearts with song. Jean and Robin create songs for the soul, embracing the dance of opposites: created and void, body and spirit, knowing and unknowing. The Japanese use a single word for this interplay of dark and light…NOTAN.
Join us our Winter Solstice Sunrise Walk at the Laguna de Santa Rosa December 21, 2018. We will begin our early morning walk just before dawn. We will meet at 6:45 AM at the trailhead just before the Chevron gas station, at the Highway 12 entrance. We will leave promptly. This two-mile walk will take us to the pond and back.
I hope this time of the season brings inner peace and inspiration.
Blessings on your walk,
XoXo,
Liza
