Hi and welcome! I’m Liza, founder of The Sunrise Walkers.
Some time ago, I began walking at sunrise on The Laguna de Santa Rosa Trail, in Sebastopol, California. This walk touched my heart and opened my mind – in a sense, the walk found me.
I put a mailing out to see who would do something as crazy as an early morning sunrise walk in the height of winter. Five brave souls responded. What happened was beyond words…
People felt an increased sense of daily energy, a profound sense of community, and a connection to nature and inner spirit that can be found in these early moments of dawn. And so the Sunrise Walkers began!
Movement and Dance Connect You to Your Body
I have been leading groups in movement and dance for the last 35 years including children’s creative dance classes, adult therapy movement/dance classes and the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education.
I have a private practice in Craniosacral Therapy and the Feldenkrais Method® in Northern California. The individual sessions are called Functional Integration® and the group classes are called Awareness Through Movement®. In each of the settings, people of all ages, shapes, genders and dispositions find a safe and helpful place for their inner exploration. At the core of all classes is respect for your body. It is a doorway into yourself. Click to read more about Feldenkrais®, Walking In Nature, & Awareness Through Movement®.
In these Sunrise Walks, what you would like to approach on the path is important. This walk is for you and all paths are respected. I look forward to sharing the beauty of nature and the unfolding of your inner path as you become a Sunrise Walker.
