The summer solstice is a time of the apparent sun standing still. There are about three weeks when the sunrise only changes over several minutes. During this apparent “standing still” time, what do you want to contemplate, honor and walk with? Join us during this next Summer Solstice Celebration walk in June 2016.

Imagine, on a warm summer day, watching clouds slowly move across the sky. Summer, with all the busy schedules, paradoxically, is the perfect time to sense an inner stillness. Have you ever stopped to contemplate sunlight on the Summer Solstice? What makes this light different? At this time of the year, the sun rises the earliest of the entire year. Maybe the light seems different because Summer Solstice is known as a time when the sun appears to “stand still”. So as we experience the longest days, the lingering light plays upon the earth differently than any other time of the year.
